Q: How much will my laser-etched art cost? As with Decorator Elements, Personal Touch laser etchings mainly address smaller formats that are intended to either be stand-alone or be integrated into larger projects, such as accent tiles incorporated into special motif backsplashes, fireplace surrounds, outside barbeque areas, occasional table displays, and smaller wall or display focal points. The use of murals can also be very effective as an affective personal touch to any design. As such, the mural pricing is the same as for the other categories of laser-etched art presented here. Volume discounts are available for orders over 100 pieces per layout for the smaller sizes (1 ft2 and less). Custom designed mosaics and scenic arrays are quoted on a per-job basis. The second chart below gives the prices for the various standard sizes in granite and marble. Custom geometries and designs (as for awards, for example) are also available upon request. The basic mural cost is based on size, format, and on material used. The cost can vary depending on the source of the image being used. If it is necessary to purchase rights to an image, those costs will normally be passed on directly to the client. Generally, you should expect that a mural will cost $145 to $165 per square foot. Larger murals enjoy significant price breaks. Plaques and accents range in price from $8.95 to $139. Additional custom graphic design services may add to the cost. Generally, image costs do not impact plaques and accents. A 5" by 7" etching on most materials costs only $39. Etchings can be created from a print that we digitize, from a digitized image sent to us on CD or via attachment, or from downloaded images that we purchase under license. As an example let's consider the granite etching of the Supernova image on this page, here represented as a 4 ft wide by 5 ft high wall (or floor) mural. The price would be 20 x $145, or $2900. If the desired size were 8 ft wide by 10 ft high in order to appropriately fill a design space, then the price for the mural would be 80 x $135, or $10,800. Price discounts begin on murals of 60 ft2. There is an additional 15% discount for multiple mural orders. The first chart below should help clarify expected cost for your mural.
Note that it is also possible to etch descriptive details of any image presented. This is particularly helpful, for this particular example, for personalized display at a riding school, equestrian lodge, or stable house lounge area. One additional example. If the space to be filled were a den or meeting room wall, museum display, home entryway, or business reception area requiring a mural 14 ft wide and 5 ft high (70 FT2), then the price of the mural on absolute black granite would be $9,450. Creative image combinations on a single mural array may also be used to meet specific architectural and design needs.
